QUICK RULE
Solid-rivet identification requires diameter, length,
head style and material/specification.
LENGTH
DIAMETER
DIAMETER: shank diameter.
PROTRUDING HEAD: commonly measure shank length from under head to end.
COUNTERSUNK HEAD: the governing rivet standard may use a head-inclusive datum; verify the
exact product standard.
HEAD: identify universal/round/brazier/flat/countersunk style as applicable.
Installed shop-head dimensions are installation results, not the original rivet's nominal
size.
IDENTIFICATION ORDER
